The primary domain in cPanel is the main domain associated with your hosting account. Changing it is useful when rebranding, migrating, or updating your business identity.

π Root Access to WHM (necessary to modify accounts).

π οΈ Steps to Change Primary Domain
Step 1: Log into WHM

Open your browser and go to:

Enter your root username and password.
Step 2: Open List Accounts

In the WHM search bar, type:

Select it from the results.
Step 3: Locate the Account

Find the cPanel account linked with the current primary domain.

Click the β+β icon next to the account to expand options.
Step 4: Modify Account

Click Modify Account.

Scroll to find the Primary Domain field.
Step 5: Enter New Domain

Remove the old domain name.

Enter the new primary domain name.
β οΈ Important: Do not change the username β otherwise, databases and configurations may break.
Step 6: Save Changes

WHM will apply the change and update the account with the new domain.

Email addresses under the old domain will stop working unless recreated under the new domain.
