🛒 Updating Shopify DNS Records in WHM
Shopify requires two main DNS changes:

A Record → Point the root domain (
domain.com) to Shopify’s IP: -
CNAME Record → Point the subdomain (
www.domain.com) to:
🔹 Steps in WHM
1. Log in to WHM
Open your WHM at:
2. Open DNS Zone Manager

Navigate to:
WHM » DNS Functions » Edit DNS Zone -
Select the domain you want to connect to Shopify.
3. Update the A Record

Find the
Arecord for your root domain (domain.com). -
Change its IP address to:
👉 If no A record exists, create one.
4. Update the CNAME Record

Look for the
CNAMEentry for www. -
If one already exists (e.g., pointing to your server), delete it first.

Add a new
CNAMErecord for www →
5. Save Changes
Click Save or Update Zone to apply DNS changes.
6. Propagation
DNS changes may take up to 24–48 hours to fully propagate worldwide, though often much faster.
✅ At this point, visiting either:
-
domain.com→ goes to Shopify store via A record -
www.domain.com→ goes to Shopify store via CNAME
⚠️ Important Note:
If you remove or misconfigure these records, your Shopify store will not resolve from your custom domain.
